David was 20 years old and had come to London from the Scottish Borders he felt he would be better able to access the support services he needed. David was in an emaciated state when he approached us as he was suffering from anorexia, along with depression/anxiety. David was also trying to come to terms with transgender issues which were adding to his depression.
We contacted his local council and arranged for him to present at the emergency service, emphasising that he needed to be linked in with appropriate support services and gave him details for local support groups.
David contacted us to thank us for our help and to say he was in semi-independent accommodation through the council and was considering applying with help from the council to supportive hostels in Edinburgh that we had suggested.
