Borderline

Supporting Homeless Scots in London

All it takes is just ONE tick…

All it takes is just ONE tick…Ticking a box may not sound like a big deal, but with the new Data Protection Bill being introduced, an important change is happening. This important change will put supporters like you in charge of your relationship with Borderline.

Borderline does not receive government funding and so we rely on the committed support from people like you to ensure homeless Scots in London receive the help they need. That is why we are asking Borderline supporters to opt in.

What does this mean?

If you opt in, you’ll receive communications about all of Borderline’s activities, which might include fundraising appeals, newsletters, invitations to events, recent client activity, outcomes and more.

If you do not opt in by May 2018 (when the Data Protection Bill comes into force), we will not contact you again. Even if you’re an existing supporter, you won’t receive Borderline communications. The only time we may contact you if you have not opted in is for administrative purposes, and this is only if you have a regular monthly donation wiht us.

How will this affect Borderline?

By relying on supporters to actively opt in to communications, we are in a position where we will essentially reduce our ability to raise funds in the short term. In the long term however, we hope that those individuals who would like to continue to hear from us will feel valued in their relationship with the charity; whether this be through donating, volunteering or simply spreading awareness of Borderline’s work.

So how do I opt in?

As the header suggests, it takes just one tick! Please complete the slip below and tick the relevant box of how you would like to be contacted: email, post or no contact, and send back using the brown Freepost envelope.

Alternatively, please email contact@borderline-uk.org with your contact details and contact preference.

You are free to change your mind at any time. If you want to opt out, simply call Borderline on 0845 456 2190 or email contact@borderline-uk.org or state no contact below.

A big thank you to those that have previously shared their contact preferences with us.

Borderline takes data protection very seriously. We promise we will not pass your details on to any other organisations. By giving us your email and/or postal address, you agree that Borderline may use it to send you information about our work, fundraising and other activities. To change your contact preferences, please email contact@borderline-uk.org To view our full Privacy Policy, please visit www.borderline-uk.org/help-us
