Following the Scottish Government’s decision to end its grant to Borderline last year, a new application was made this year under the Housing Voluntary Grant Scheme.
Unfortunately, our application was unsuccessful. Though recognising the “importance” of our application, the Scottish Government, which was looking for £300,000 savings for the Scheme, has said other applications matched its priorities better.
The Government has however offered to advise us on how better to meet its criteria. We will be meeting officials over the coming months to work on our next application.
In the meantime, we would like to thank the many people who supported us through this process. We will continue to explore all available ways of making up the shortfall in income we face, so we can carry on our vital work helping homeless Scots find secure accommodation.
