Our CEO Shona once again participated in the CEO Sleepout on 21st November at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The annual event brings together business and charity leaders to experience the difficulty of sleeping outdoors first-hand, whilst raising money for their chosen charities supporting the homeless.
Joining her were Paul McFarland, Hugh Pym, Borderline Chair Jessica Cadzow-Collins and her son Ralph, to brave a night in cold conditions out in the stands. The fundraisers picked a spot on the concrete inbetween the rows of seats and tried to get some sleep with the background noise of the city all around.
Attendees listened to speeches from a group of people that have been homeless and been able to turn their lives around, with the support of charities and organisations before heading out into the stands to brave the 4C temperatures. After a day of heavy rain, they were lucky to be under the cover of the stands.
There was a great camaraderie and atmosphere, helping the attendees get through the night. A huge thank you to the team for raising money for homeless Scots.
The team’s fundraising pages are still open for donations, so please do donate if you can spare something for homeless Scots, any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated:
