Pat’s Story
– West Coast of Scotland
Pat came down to England from the West Coast of Scotland with his family when he was young.
At first things went well: he had a good job, he was in a relationship. Then things started breaking down. He found himself on the streets of London. His stay there was a long one, and it was made worse by his asthma. He preserved his dignity by keeping clean, but in this frank audio interview, he recounts days and nights spent around the Strand, and says he “wouldn’t recommend” the experience. He also explains how Borderline’s outreach worker, based at the Connection at St Martin’s, helped him off the streets and into accommodation.
